About Us

Laurie Pietragallo, MS, LPC
Owner / Psychotherapist

I believe the greatest gift we can offer to someone in need is the ability to meet them where they are and without judgement. Due to a lifetime of reasons, four of which are my lovely children, I did not re-enter the world of academia until my early 40s. The time prior to school enriched my life's experience and serves me well when connecting with clients. My approach to therapy is humanistic, providing a supportive environment comprised of acceptance and appropriate humor. My specialties include treatment of anxiety and depression as well as issues concerning self-esteem, relationships, and substance use.

I hold a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology, and a graduate level certificate in Infant Mental Health, both from Chatham University. My clinical experience has centered around community settings as an adult outpatient therapist working with clients who struggle with severe and chronic mental illnesses, mood disorders, personality issues, and issues regarding substance use.

My general approach to therapy includes a balance of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) to treat symptoms affecting daily functioning and Psychodynamic Therapy, which explores the origin of a problem if so desired. I am passionate about helping others and look forward to working together with you to obtain greater joy and inner peace.
